Hello,

Before applying I wanted to know few things

1) What are the criteria for getting 35 points under master’s degree? Do they consider distance education master degree?

2) How do they calculate age, I mean they calculate age on date of application or on the date when they receive application or on the date when they process application

3) How is earnings calculated in GBP, Do they take current exchange rate or the average exchange rate of 12 months...

Hi,

The answers to your questions are as under,

1. Masters degree by distance education: The guideline does not state that only a full-time degree is considered. Having said that, you should get a NARIC certificate for your Masters degree. If the NARIC certifies your distance masters equivalent to a UK Masters degree then you could claim the points.

2. Age Calculation: The age is calculated based on the date your application is recieved by the HSMP team.

3. Exchange rate calculation The exchange rate used for calculations is the historical exchange rate on the last date of your last salary slip. So if you claim income between Jan06 and Dec 07, then the exchange rate on the last date of Dec 07 (or the last date of your Dec 07) salary slip used for calculations.

You can better call up the Customer care and shoot this question to them....
