when am | able to get my tution fee paid????

Post by jango » Sun Feb 18, 2007 2:40 am

My wife is a EU citizen. I have been living in Uk with a entry clearance for one year ( I came to Uk with this visa 07/07/2005)after his period we had to renew my residency status via Home Office. My wife has a blue recidency permit to live in Uk, and therefore we apllied for me to get immigration status because we are a family. And I got spouse visa, the right to live in Uk as a family member of a EU citizen. until 2008.

I was told I can only get help to pay my university tution fee when I provide that I have been living here in UK for three years, continuesly.

The question is wheter or not the first year starting from 07/07/05 with my entry clearance counts, or not ??
Or is it from the day I recieved spouse visa??

And if I go back to visit my mother for about 60 days she lives abroad outside UK, will it effect the three years??

I believe the universities consider you for EU fees once you have spent 3 years as 'settled' in the uk, which started when you came initially in 2005.

So you will only be able to get reduced fees from 7/7/2008 onwards....

You won't get your tuition fees 'paid' anyway, just the entitlement to reduced fees. For example my partner pays 7000 pa tuition fees as an international student, the home fees for same course are 3600 pa so u'd have to pay that at least.
