Need help with spouse-student visa

Post by Lenny » Mon Feb 19, 2007 11:12 pm

Many thanks in advance for the advice. :D

Problem: I am a Peruvian citizen, currently living in my home country and married to a Italian passport holder on January this year. I am currently trying to get my papers sorted at the Italian Embassy in my country, which I do not think will be a problem as we have more than five years relationship with my husband now.

I wanted to apply for a spouse visa at the British Embassy in my country but sadly they ask my husband for proof of income for the previous four or six months, which he can not provide as he has been unemployed. For this reason, I would like to try to apply for a student visa, I have got an aunt who can sponsorship me here and I also have a cousin living and working in England who can provide a letter to the British Embassy. I can get marry afterwards and apply for a spouse visa afterwards…can I do this?

My question is: If I do what I am thinking ( getting a student visa instead of a spouse visa) will that be a problem in my future application at the Home Office ?
Hope you can help me, any suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Thanks !!!
