Query about section 221Q administrative process

Query about section 221Q administrative process

Hi this query is about one of my friend. He is married to a US citizen in June 2010. US visa centre approved his petition in Aug 2010 and then forward the case to US embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan. Embassy invited him for interview in June 2011. Case work advised that every thing ok and when the administrative process is finished embassy will contact him to return his passport. He is waiting for his visa since June 2011. He has also tried to contact the embassy several times but embassy staff do not give any up date on the case apart from “Your case in administrative process under section 221Q” Please advise how long usually embassy takes to complete this admin process as it nearly one & half years and he still have not heard any thing.

there's NO Time frame for admin processing..did they ask your friend to submit his passport ? I'm asking because some times they do AP twice,after the first AP complete they ask to submit the passport but still every case is different though.you can ask your friend to contact DOS,he must have all information concerning his case with him so that they can assist him
