HELP WITH SPOUSE VISA APPLYING FROM ABROAD

Post by Conchurelli » Wed Feb 28, 2007 10:47 pm

I have been reading your board posts and I am getting so worried.
My situation is very peculiar, I am an italian passport holder living in Peru and I will like to travel to England to study and work. I got married in January to my five year peruvian girlfriend, now my wife.
I would like to know, how hard it would be for me to get a visa for my wife to come with me and how do I show the british embassy that we can afford to stay without asking for public funds?
Any help will be so much appreciated
Thanks

You need to think in terms of an EEA Family Permit, not a spouse visa. Start at http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk

Is your wife eligible for Italian citizenship by marriage? She might lose her Peruvian citizenship but then maybe that might not be important.

How long do you plan to live in the UK?

Thank very much for your response. We are planing to move to London for a long term period , at least for five years, until we both finish our studies.
Please could you give me some advice on the documents that I need to submit for my wife in order to get a positive response.
Thanks in advance
