need help on ILR application which is mix of WP and Tier 1

Post by afauk » Wed Feb 13, 2013 4:32 pm

Hi Guys,

Can somebody please help me for the ILR application. my situation is as below :

got Work Permit on 13th March 2008
changed the visa got Tier 1 on 8th April 2010

i have an appointment on 28th Feb 2013 with HO .

my questions are :

1) on Page 9 Section 3 which categories shall i tick? as being a WP and Tier 1 visa holder
2) on Page 11 under section 5.5 do i have to fill anything? like SOC Code etc.
3) Section 6 page 13... 6.1 ... i came to this country in 2004 and got the WP in 2008. I am just confused to put WP date on or the first time i enter UK that is in 2004.

Please can someone come back to me with the answers? i am really confused.

Many Thanks.

1) Reading the question carefully will help. You should tick the category you will be applying for ILR under. I.e. T1G
2) No.
3) If you read the question carefully you will notice that it says "This refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based". So this means it will be your WP FLR date as your ILR application residence began on that date.

Only that the advice given to you over the UKBA helpline was incorrect (You will find that they are prone to giving incorrect information, as they are not necessarily familiar with all aspects of application forms or immigration rules).

The question under that section asks you to tick a box to show them the category you are applying under. It doesn't say tick the boxes. I.e. you can only apply for ILR under a single category, not multiple categories.

1) on Page 9 Section 3 which categories shall i tick? as being a WP and Tier 1 visa holder - TIER1-G
2) on Page 11 under section 5.5 do i have to fill anything? like SOC Code etc. - Skipped this
3) Section 6 page 13... 6.1 ... i came to this country in 2004 and got the WP in 2008. I am just confused to put WP date on or the first time i enter UK that is in 2004. - Date of my first entry in UK with WP

I had applied for ILR in similar case as yours, in my case - I was in WP till 8 months

I selected only Tier1-G and did not fill any details about SOC codes..etc

I was not even asked for my earlier employment proof and all.. just last 12 months pay-slip, dividend voucher and personal bank statements.
