Working as contractor on tier 2 general sponsorship

Post by a123456 » Sun Feb 24, 2013 7:13 pm

Hi,

I am getting offer of Tier2 General Sponsorship from some Employer in India, which is having its head office in UK. I will be the permanent employee of that Employer and they are offering me annual salary,

but My job profile will be, like i have to search for any contractual job in UK and work for other clients on contract

My query is
1) So, as being a permanent employee of an employer, is it legal to work as a contractor on Tier 2 General Visa for some other clients ?

2) Employer is offering me Tier 2 General visa for first 3 years, but they are not sure to continue with it after 3 years. In that case what will be my situation there. Can i get the Tier2 Sponsorship easily while i will be in UK.
I am planning to work there for 5 years, and then after applying for ILR

3) Is it possible to apply for ILR on Tier 2 General,
What will be option if the employer will not sponsor extension on Tier 2 general after 3 years.

4) If i will be eligible to work as contractor, Can you please let me know hows the contractor market in UK for .NET Development or lead role.

Please help.

Urgent reply appreciated, as i have to take decision on this.

Thanks in Advance.

Sorry but this sounds fishy.

With a Tier 2 Work permit you're allowed only to work for the sponsor you were given visa for, hence no contractual job with other parties. And you can only work as your COS says.

I am not a lawyer though, and I may be wrong.
