Council Tax Single Person Discount - ILR Application

Post by satandrive » Tue Mar 05, 2013 11:38 am

Hello,

I am on ILR and my naturalization is due next month.

I bought a flat on 2011 October while my wife was in India and She joined me in late November.

When I moved into flat I availed 25% discount as a single person and it carried on till day 16 and half month now although my wife joined me after a month I bought flat. (It comes to around £500 of discount so far).

We are going through appeal for my wife's dependent application at present and hopefully once we win it, we will file for her ILR.

March is the month council makes the bill for next year.

My concern is shall I call them up and pay this as it was in error and I just realized?

Concern mainly is if we win the appeal and then apply for ILR then its worth paying for it. Worst case if she has to go back to home county and apply again for dependent from there and it will be a waste back dating it.

Please advise?

So you're asking people to advise you if you should continue breaking the law?
