It is true that IND have not done anything remotely clever like providing form fields on forms such as the SET(O). So yes, they expect you to print out the form and then pick up a pen and write on the printed blank form.

However is you happen to have a full working version of Adobe Acrobat, rather than just Adobe Reader, you can define your own form fields and then put information into those fields before printing. We did exactly this when my wife filed a form AN(NEW) to apply for Naturalisation. If I do say so myself, probably the neatest form AN(NEW) they have ever received!

thanks for your insight. the HSMP & FLR(HSMP) Forms I could type in, but the SET(O) form I cannot.

and why is SET(O) an odd form for a HSMP person to use? it's what i'll be using to apply for ILR in a years time. (4 years on WP, 1 year on HSMP)

this is the correct ILR form (although I realize there may be changes to the form between now & the date i apply)
