All passport pages or just the stamps...!!?

Post by virtual-writer » Thu Mar 22, 2007 11:25 pm

I read in the naturalisation application AN (TD) or its guide or somewhere on ind.gov.uk, that all pages of the passport must be copied and certified.

If I remember correctly, they said that before too, but the solicitors all said only the stamps and first pages are needed?

All your answers are much appreciated. Thanks.

No, you definitely do have to send in a copy of every page; I learned that lesson the hard way. Some have suggested that NCS centres will only copy the stamped pages, but I presume that's because the NCS employees are trusted to include everything relevant with your application. You will have to enclose a notorized copy of every page if you're applying by post.

Good luck!

I agree, all the pages should be included and notarised. In my case, the NCS made a notarised copy of every page.

Yeah, I agree too. If you're not going through NCS then every page should be copied. NCS obviously are trusted by the Home Office not to miss out any pages. If you go to a solicitor, the Home Office has no way of knowing whether or not the solicitor has missed any relevant pages from your passport.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

Yes, that's right. The reason is that a page that is not copied could contain a pertinent stamp (e.g. a cancellation of leave from the Home Office, or a residence permit for another country that indicated prolonged absence from the UK). The NCS, on the other hand, are trusted by the IND not to miss out any germane pages when they copy the passport.
