Fiance visa success - spread the love

Post by luis2007 » Sat Mar 24, 2007 12:27 pm

Four days ago we received confirmation that our fiancee application has been accepted. Am so relieved as you can imagine - I know my story of woe is nothing compared to some that I have read on this. I wanted to thank everyone who has posted and helped - I have not asked too many questions myself but have found lots of advice from reading other peoples questions.
I can honestly say that without the advice on here we would not have put half as much information in the folder - wouldn't know where to start - and may not have been successful.
I really would like to give a donation to an immigration charity - does anyone have any ideas? I did do some looking around but am at a loss as to where the money would be most effective. (it is not a lot of money -still gotta look good for the spouse visa application :D ) and the rest.....

You might consider the Immigration Advisory Service (IAS), which provides free legal advice to eligible immigrants and asylum seekers as well as making representations to the government on various immigration-related matters.

Asylum Aid provides a similar service for asylum seekers only. They are probably more radical in both their views and their approach than the IAS, which may or may not be to your personal taste.

There are of course many others: it will be interesting to see what emerges.
