Masters from UK - Home Office letter of student permission

Post by boyzzeal » Tue Mar 27, 2007 11:16 am

Friends,

Soon I intend to make my fresh application for HSMP Visa. I have done my Masters from Univ of Edinburgh in the year 2002-03. I would like to claim 5 points under UK experience section for my UK study.

As required evidence, we are required to submit evidences of both Original Home Office letter of student permission and Original letter from the Insitution. I do have with me the letter from the Institution but do not remember of receiving Home Office letter. What I have is only a UK Study Visa stamped on my passport.

I do understand that I can submit notarised copies of my Visa and Passport as alternative evidence.

However, would like to know whether any forum members faced similar issues and how they dealt with and any suggestions that may be useful for me. I would also like to know the reasons stated for the case worker to consider the alternative evidence.

Thank you. Any help in this regard is deeply appreciated.

regards,
Deeps

boyzzeal,
Its simple, just submit the notorized copies of your Passport and admission letter as reference to support your claim but if you can submitt the originals it wil also help.

Dear Mayana,

Thx for your prompt reply.

I intend to do exactly the same as outlined by you. I have with me Original Letter from the Institution (original) and also submit Notarized copies of my passport and student visa. No issues!!!

However, my point is whether any accompanying statement has to be provided in the blank column wherein they specifically request us to specify the reasons why Home Office Letter was not provided and why they need to consider the alternative evidence - notarized passport copies.

I would like to know what should be mentioned in the column so that they consider my alternative evidence.

Thanks.

Yaar BoyZzeal Bhai
You must have extended your student visa here in UK since 2003.
HO always send you a letter with your passport back. Although tht letter just look like a photocopy of a rule and regulation leaflet. tht letter is one of the stupid requirments of HSMP application. anyway..i sent that letter with my application. you can explain that its been long time since you recieved tht letter and you have lost it in moving places.
cheers
