ILR holders at Heathrow

Which side do you queue up?

The Non- EU/UK passport holder side is always packed. Are you allowed at the other side ? (EU/UK passport holder)

Sorry if I'm being stupid but if u don't have an EU passport then it's the big queue I'm afraid.

That's not been my experience, it is usually the same or shorter. I suppose it depends on where you travel from.

It's not called the EU/UK/ILR queue.
In a few years time we'll look back on immigration control like we look back on American prohibition in the thirties - futile and counter-productive.

The EU queue is meant for EU/UK passport holders and the non-EU/other is for all others. This subject was brought up last week here (though it went a bit off course :wink: )

Last time I travelled through Heathrow with my non eu wife we went to the UK EU as there where no queue and the non was huge. I asked is ok for my wife to be in this queue and she replied "as long as she travels with you, If she travels alone she will have to go to the non UE queue".

But if you come into Manchester airport late on a Sunday evening you can usually take your pick as theres a good chance no immigration staff will be manning *either* queue ;-)

The one and only time I have ever entered the UK without going through any immigration control was a late Sunday night coming from Brussels on the Eurostar back to London. This was before juxtoposed controls and when there were "supposed" to be immigration officers at Waterloo. Left Brussels (where the Belgian immigration police checked my passport) and arrived late into Waterloo and not an immigration officer in sight. Everyone just walked straight through the counters without being checked or stamped or anything.

That, and Dawie's experience, are disgusting. Just when you think that immigration control is so pathetic it can't get worse.... you have to revise your opinion.
