Brit & Russian in Germany

Post by russ_mann » Sun Apr 08, 2007 3:30 pm

Hello

I am British and my wonderful fiancee is Russian.

We are living in Germany. She is finishing her MA studies and I am working. Is it possible for her to get British citizenship by marrying a Brit and living in another EU country, ie Germany?

Many thanks for your time!

Martin

No, she can't get BC if she is not in the UK, or has never even stepped foot here! Actually, there are some exceptions. It's for people working in the crown service...are you? I am going to point you to the best source of information: the Border and Immigration Agency (previously IND). Search for IND and read about EEA applications, and British Citizenship for all the info you need!
