Hostels for family stay in Europe

Post by anurikavidya » Mon Apr 09, 2007 8:20 pm

Hi,

I am planning to visit Paris, Amsterdam, Venice and Brussels as a tourist, along with my Family (Spouse and a kid). In this regard, i came to know that there are many Hostels across which offer accomodation at a reasonable price.

However, i would like to know as to whether these Hostels are suitable for Family stay and will we get private rooms with attached toilets, showers, lockers there.

I appreciate if anybody can throw more information on Hostels in Europe for family stay, especially in those countries which i have mentioned in the beginning.

Regards
Anurika

My gf is staying in similar in Germany at the mo and I have to say they are mostly a bit grotty.

Don't get me wrong, they are generally clean etc but a bit basic. The one my gf has is a single room, showers/wc down the corridor and a shared Spam. Shower and WC are, well, very old and hot water unreliable. WC clean.

In the room there is a sink, a bed, a chair and table and some shelves.

This one was in Hamburg and cost 200 Euro a month so I'd say 75 Euro a week.

You biggest problem might be showing proof of accommodation for the schengen visa app. You'd really want to see the room before paying for it......
