Tier 1 General and ILR confusion

Hello

I am confused related to my ILR. Your help in this matter will be highly appreciated.

I first got my Tier 1 General on 6 April 2010 and expires on 6 April 2013 and just got my extension which is valid from 21 March 2013 to 21 March 2015.

I understand that to qualify for ILR you ought to complete 5 years lawfully in UK. My question is UKBA provided me visa until 21 March 2015 where as my 5 years will be completed 6 April 2015.

Do I need to contact UKBA to change the Visa date to be in line with the 5 years rule?

The UKBA now grant LTR to be valid from the date of the decision. In this case I presume that you made an in-person extension application on March 21st, hence the reason why your new leave was granted from that date.

According to the current rules you are allowed to apply for ILR from upto 28 days before the 5th anniversary from your EC, so long as you first entered the UK within 3 months of EC. If this is the case, then you should be fine with the LTR you have been granted now, as it is.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have been first granted my Tier 1 on 06/04/2010 therefore I will qualify for ILR on 06/04/2015. As you said I can apply 28 days before i.e 09/03/2015 on wards, I will be ok as I have a visa until 21/03/2015.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
