Professional Referees

Post by chineseguyuk » Wed May 22, 2013 5:13 am

I am about to apply for citizenship the end of May. The question is do I have to the professional Referee for more than three years? I only know him about a year. Can I just put his name in the form and portend to be more than three years? Hope anybody could help me with this. Thanks a lot.

Another question is I am holding a biometric infinite leave to remain permit and am I illegible to apply for citizenship? My partner is British. Thanks for helping.

If the person signing the professional reference has not met the requirements as outlined then they face possible criminal prosecution and a fine as they are deceiving the HO.

You say your partner is British, is your partner your spouse or civil partner? If so, then as you are settled (have ILR) and if you have been resident in the UK for 3 years and meet the other spouse requirements you will be able to naturalise.

Thanks for your reply. But i don't know any professionals for more than three years and are there any solutions for it please? We are civil partner and I have been in this Country for nearly ten years.

The professional referee doesn't need to be British, have you asked your GP, a pharmacist or nurse you may know? What about a director of a company?

Thanks for replying. I know a director of private company for less than three years. I haven't visited GP. I don't know what to do now.
