Independent Contractor with only Verbal Contract

For an Independent Contractor it states that you must provide copies of contracts. I've never had a written contract with my employer. I have every thing else (bank statements, payslips, invoices, letter from employer).

Will a letter from my employer stating that I'm under a verbal contract be ok? Has anyone encountered this?

Thanks. It seems like the application is a little vague in this area so I'm sending everything I've got (payslips, invoices, tax returns, bank statements, letter from employer stating salary, letter of verbal contract). There's nothing more I can provide so, I hope this is enough!
