I applied from Cochin VFS. Do you have an update on your status. Did you try calling up the VFS chennai or BHC regarding your status.

Hi all,
I applied EC on 10th april 2007 from bangalore,still the status shows "FORWARDED TO BHC",dont understd y they r taking soo much time to process..i took medical test last week .will the delay of my application causes negetive result

...tensed..will it take soo long to process

Hi Praveen

I called VFS chennai. They repeat the same story "Forwarded to BHC please wait and check back the status status Later". Finally I wrote to BHC. They replied saying They are waiting for the reports to come in. I am persuming Medicals and Integra. Any how, when I send a mail to BHC there was an automated reply. The following para would be of interest for many of you.

"Because of the introduction of our Integra pilot programme, there has been a change in our standard processing times for applications made in the Work Permit and HSMP categories. Such applications will need to be made at least 3 weeks (15 working days) in advance of the intended date of travel to allow for thorough verification checks. Because such checks affect the integrity of the border control, we cannot waive them. "

aj: I hope that answers your question too.. Intra screen is somthing that everyone one has to go thru . We have no clue how they do it. We can just wish they do it with out any pitfalls so that the actual results reflect our actual history so that genuine applicants go thru easily.

Can I apply for dependent EC later

Has anybody applied for HSMP holder's EC first and then after sometime say 2-3 months later applied for dependent's EC?

I am thinking of applying my EC first and applying for spouse later. Do you see it may cause any problem. Please advise.

a query about EC....... i'll be applying for EC within next two weeks..... regarding proof of residence arrangments on arrival at UK....... what kind of letter should be presented for this..... actually I have some relatives at Glasgow and wants them to write a letter to BHC stating to take care about my residence till any further arrangements.......
if u ppl have any idea about the letter format....... pls share...... i hope this may be helpfull to other perspective EC candidates....

Hi All,
1)could you tell me what should be written for the question, "why do you want to go UK"? in VAF1 Form

2) What should be the duration of hotel booking which can be shown as accomodation proof?

3) can LIC, Mutual funds be shown under property section?

4) should the amount be shown in pounds? if so, do we need to shown the proof of currency conversion ?

i went to kolkata VFS and they have given me integra screen form in which they have 2 sections:

1.employment detail (current)
2.educational detail (highest)

then y do take so much time...

As far as I can "GUESS" integra is going to contact your university to verify your degree, this is one main thing that they do. You might be well aware that our universities doesn't reply back fast. This could be one cause of delay.
1.employment detail (current)
This depends on which company you are working for. IF it's a large MNC with lots of divisions they might not be able to contact the exact division on time to get a reply. We do give them a general contact point. I believe they do not contact personal contact points like Managers. I Guessed this cause of the case with praveen where in the receptionist was asked for a reply.

Me and praveen feels like gunnie pigs where they are trying out things. It would cost us valuable time especially since we have resigned the job in anticipation of EC with the fact that everything is genuine and there is no reason for refusal. Just crossing my fingers and waiting for a positive reply.

Hi aj,

thanks for remembering me.

I am stuck. I applied for appeal , posted all photocopy documents to visa dept, dy.high comm chennai on 18th april. i called them up yesterday and found it will take 6-8 weeks to process the application. my application hasn't been assigned to the visa officer yet. i lost hope at this point.

life is normal after a day of frustration.

Who ever has applied or got the EC, Can you please share the information whether your employer got a verification call from Integra?

I applied to EC at Bangalore VFS on 16th April. I am working a big MNC, but my employer didn't get any verification call. Did this happen to anyone and got the EC?

Do we need to include same information about education and employer in integra screen form or more than that?

I agree with you people that taking long time on EC is creating more difficulties. Real difficult to plan out things like resignation, leaving house, tickets etc etc...

Please suggest an easy to cancel hotel for accomodation proof.

Those who have applied for EC please suggest me some hotel which you had booked for accomodation proof. I went to the site booking.com suggested by someone in this forum. But I am finding it difficult to decide which hotel to book. Depending on when I get EC, I may stay with my friend and cancel the hotel. So please suggest me something where they do not charge much if I cancel the booking.

yes they verified the employer and also university,ie..why they take 3 weeks to issue the visa..Integra are the one ho verifys these two places... IT part they may r maynt verify,donno correctly..ALL THE BEST TO ALL.
