Urgent Help needed: Entering UK before stipulated Visa Date

Hi all,

I am an international applicant from Singapore.

I would appreciate anyone help/advice with regards to my case.
I'm enrolling to a UK university come Sept 2013 and applied for a Tier 4 (General) Visa, with visa validity starting from 25th August 2013.

I bought my air ticket in advance and would be departing on 10th August to London Heathrow from Singapore with my family. I am actually using London as a base to travel to Italy for a holiday before my sch term starts in Sept with my family. We would be staying with my aunty who resides in London.

My question is that would the immigration officer allow me to enter UK as a tourist? I would be exiting London on 18th August for Rome and would only arrive back in London on 28th August 2013. (Valid to enter as a Student with Tier 4 general visa)

Would they bar me from entry on the 10th August and revoke my Student Visa?

Well, that's a sticky situation. Why don't you ring the Embassy in Singapore and tell them of your travel plan? No advise that you get on here will be 100% correct...It shouldn't be a problem but with UKBA/Home Office anything is possible at the port of entry!

Your local consulate will be your best source of advise..IMO

I'm really lost to what i can do at this juncture! I'm trying all possible ways and means to clarify and hopefully i see the light some where! It's going to be costly buying new tickets and rescheduling my holidays!

Does anyone have any more idea? I would really appreciate it!
