Do I need to show contracts at the time of application?

Hi,

I am about to apply for Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa. I am just wondering is it a must condition to show contracts?

I have applied for some contracts, but, no one considered me as I haven't got enough visa that the clients needed.

Could you anyone suggest me what can I answer the UKBA regarding this question?

I have a good degree, MBA in Finance and I'm currently working for a Bank. However, my current job falls under Level 3. Through my new business, I would like to provide services to client that fall under Level 4 or above.

Also, do I need to set up a business before the application or would it be sufficient to register self-employed with HMRC showing them what I will be doing, i.e. my business plan or idea.

If you are applying under T1E from PSW 50K route, you must already have company that in operation and have at least one contract to show that your company provide service to your client.
If you are applying with route 200K, you can wait visa outcome then firm up a new company.
