Visit Visa for Marriage

Post by mateo1982 » Wed May 16, 2007 2:15 pm

Hi Everyone,
Just to let you all know my girlfriend successfully applied for one of these yesterday and we received it the same day at the british embassy in Colombia. Thanks to all who helped, I know this is a fairly new visa so thought I would include everything we attached:

Sponsorship letter from me detailing accomodation and my work etc
bank Statements
certified copy of my passport and visa
Friends Passports
Bills
Tenancy Agreement
Floor Plan of house done by myself
Photos of house
Photos os us
Plane Tickets
Hotel Accomodation
Bill from when my fiance lived with me
Phone Bills
Skype Statement
Letter from her work
Her bank statement
Receipt of wedding dress purchase
Receipt of ring

Think I have covered everything, basically the documents we included were very similair to that of a fiance visa, any questions please give me a shout.

thanks to all

Thanks for posting that .... and congratulations!

As you say these visas are comparatively new. Without quoting any name as printed on the visa, what does it actually say? In particular, what reference does it make to the wedding?

Wouldnt be able to tell you that as yet sorry as she's not back, will be back on Saturday so I will post it up then once I've had a look. Don't know if this has anything to do with it but the immigration officer asked her where she intended to spend her future (I'm Australian but with 5 years ancestry and 1 more year until i have ILR) and she told him Australia which may have made the application a bit easier.
