Irish Embassy have no record?

Post by Jellybean105 » Mon Aug 05, 2013 4:37 pm

Hi there

In short, my husband applied for an Ireland visa on the 5th of July and it sates it takes 15 working days to receive a reply. We had not included his passport because home office had it and we clearly explained it and said we could request it to be returned if they need it.

I called them up a week after and they said they have no record of the application number. Then I called again today, more than 15 working days and they still don't have any details.

The guy on the phone said that the decision might come today so they won't know until they send it to him, so he said he'd enquire and get someone to call me. Also, I spend half an hour on a premium £1.50 a minute call and I complained that after all that he had no information to give me.
He said they can reimburse the money and he will send me an email.

I have not received an email? And he could not find out application by ref number or name. Should I be worried??

Thanks

Give then more time i.e 10 working days and you'll know where you stand.

hi I don't understand if they do not have a record of an application how they can tell you that decision might come today ?

2. they should be able to find your application by reference number .
3.outcome is not always in 15 days they can take more time as its high season time for holidays
4.when you call them give them your visa reference number and ask them progress on your application nothing else.#
5.or email them you should get the reply .write your visa application number when you email them and ask the it should be processed on accelerated basis and under directives 2004/38/ecj.

Hi Sierra

I think he said that he can only tell once he has received the decisions? I gave him my application number but he said he could not find it so there was not much more I could do :( I just hope they have received it.
I did actually just ask him the status. But before that I was on hold for 30mins in the queue. They don't even tell you approx. how long or where you are in the queue.
I have emailed them through the form on the embassy website. Is there an email address I should email to?

Thank you for your help.

OP, when you filled the application online is there a certain ref number for your application provided to you after you have completed filling the online application? contact visamail@justice.ie, if your application is registered surely the guyz at that office will be able to tell you and what stage the application is, they also usually write back to you in a matter of minutes to hours.

Please make sure you recoup the telephone bill back from the embassy, it is indeed clearly illegal for them to charge you or your family member for a penny whilst trying to establish a contact with them.
They are suppose to provide a non premium number for EU citizens and their families.
