Dependant using money of main applicant's parents

This question is regarding the 10 "maintenance points" required under the PBS (Points-Based-System).

For a Tier 4 Dependant Visa, if the main applicant (me) is using his parents' funds, is it possible for his dependant (my wife) to state that she will also be using these funds?

If not, what are the options? I do not hold the money myself, so formally I cannot write a sponsorship letter, am I right?

What if my parents will include her in their sponsorship letter ("I... agree to cover all the expenses of my son ... and his wife ...")?

I really do not want to leave my wife behind and just go study alone.
