Evidence of Earnings - P45 & P60 - Help!!!

Post by UKOK » Thu May 17, 2007 10:49 pm

Hi

I'm nearing the end of my WHM visa and am in the process of completing my application for a HSMP visa and am confused about my tax documents....

I am claiming for the last tax year, 6 April 06 to 5 April 07, and, although I was employed by the one employer for the whole 12 months, I went on extended holiday in December and they must not have been certain that I was coming back so sent me out a P45.

I subsequently returned to the same job after my holiday and when I got my P60, I noticed it only included my earnings from when I got back from holiday in January to the end of the tax year. All pre-December earnings are shown on the P45 form they previously sent me.

So I should submit both of these along with my wage slips and all should be fine, right? Well, I called the HSMP helpline today (why bother) and got told that I would probably need to claim exceptional circumstances (very dangerous territory as that's what killed my last application for different reasons).

What should I do???!

Cheers

UKOK I don't see why you can't have the company reissue the P60 corrected with the full amount or earnings for the relevant year whehter or not they thought you left
