I know the date of application is taken as date in post mark for an application to be "in time".

How likely is the application date being different in the post mark and the date recorded in HO computer?

For sth as important as this you shouldn't be relying on the ordinary post. Registered, recorded, couriered or even a proof of posting would make this question redundant.

I have always done registered or recorded post while sending application.
