India Register married - Spouse Visa

Post by jkcool » Tue Sep 10, 2013 12:35 pm

Hi,

One of my friend working in UK on Tier 2 visa. He got married recently. As both parents did not agree. He did a register marriage ( court marriage ). The marriage certificate issued is in a different format when compared to regular marriage certificates. Will that be an issue when Tier -2 dependent visa is applied ?

Rest of the conditions are fine.

'A different format'. Is that all you can give us? Not very useful in the context of the enquiry. Why not have him ask his own question given he has all the correct information about his marriage?

The format of certificates change from place to place. I got married recently and now I have seen both the certificates.

The difference is that the court marriage certificate is issued on a notarised stamp paper with details of witness, photos of couple and counter signed by District registrar and a notary. It looks more of a court order with govt stamp on a stamp paper.

On the other hand, regular marriage certificate is issued by Municipal Authority with Photos based on the authorisation from the marriage hall authorities where in which the marriage was conducted. The certificate looks like a pre-filled forms with photos and details with offcial govt stamp.

As of now, my friend does not have access to internet and busy with other formalities. I will be able to provide all the required clarifications.
