Firstly, the situation is as follows: I am a non EU citizen and I have met my girlfriend while studying in the UK, we have been dating for over two years and can prove that this is a genuine relationship (photos, property contracts etc...). Now my study is complete and I've gone home. My girlfriend is Latvian and is currently working in the UK.
We have decided to get married in the near future and we would both like to settle somewhere in Europe (We would prefer Germany or Denmark). So with this, I have the following question:
1. When we get married, will we be able to live in any of the EU countries or will we have to live in Latvia until I get a permanent Latvian residency?
2. If we are not limited to Latvia, then will I be able to move to the chosen country before her (so she can have the time to notify the employer, close accounts etc...) and then she would join me in a couple of months. Or does she have to move to the country first and then invite me to come?
