british citizen to marry tibetan refugee ( passport) HELP

hi everyone, i dont know if i ve posted this in the right place, i hope someone can help with this problem, iam a british citizen to be married to my tibetan refugee fiance oct 07, (he lives in dharmasla at present) then we will apply for his visa. The question is he has a refugee passport which is issued by the indian government, and an ic document (identification certificate) will he be able to travel to britain once married and clearence given with these documents.

What a good question!

Have a read of this document, which is part of the instructions given to staff issuing visas.

A quick read shows me that the document issued by India should be OK, but I would recommend a good read of the whole document. In particular read 4.10.

sorry John its not an IC document its RC ( REGISTRATION DOCUMENT) and GREEN BOOK. the question above applies still only to the changed documents

I suspect that is not sufficient for possible international travel. I think he needs to hold a document that is listed in Annex 4.1, as linked to in the document I provided a link to.

Hopefully if in doubt a call to the BHC in India would clarify the matter.

I don't think the British goverment will have any problems recongnizing Refugee Identity Cards issued by the Indian government. I have met sri lankans refugees applying for British visas with only their Sri Lankan refugee I.D cards issued by the Govt.of India
