My passport bearing my ILR expires before i travel...is it acceptable to carry my new passport and my old ppt showing my ILR or do i need to have the ILR transferred on to my new passport?

Yes, it is at the moment, but do not be surprised if this ability disappears at some time in the future.

Best is to transfer the ILR into your new ppt by filling in form NTL. Submit the ppt and all the other documents asked on the form together with the fee. Shouldn't take long to process.

I've got the same "problem" and when phoned HO they said it is perfectly ok to carry both passports, but I should really transfer the ILR stamp into the new one so I don't have to worry about carrying 2 passports:). That's a poor sales technic as I have no intention on wasting £160 on someone putting a "sticker" in my ppt, which btw costs 4 times less then the sticker(£44 - Cdn ppt).
