Certificate of Approval (COA)

Post by eliasuk4u » Fri Jun 08, 2007 10:35 pm

Does anyone have any idea of how long does it takes to get (COA) Certificate of approval for Home Office and how long its valid for, if you get one?

The published service standards for deciding charged
applications made by post are to decide 70% within 4 weeks
(20 working days) and 90% within 14 weeks (70 working
days).

The certificate is valid for three months from the date it is issued or to the date when your leave to enter/remain expires, if this is less. You must give your notice to marry or register your civil partnership within this time.

Both the above quotes are from http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk

We sent it off April 23rd and got it back May 16. It's good for three months.
