I have... I am starting the new job on Monday and the new employer said he is more than happy to do what it takes to get me to work theredsab85 wrote:I don't want to dent anyones hopes, but remember that you need a formal job offer, and that the employer needs to support the Work Permit application.
Unfortunately a lot of companies are not prepared at all to go through this. Very often as soon as companies hear the word work permit they are not intrested anymore. That's from my wifes experience, and she has a very good background.
Quite a lot of people on here were aware about this from previous discussions, but it seems noone yet managed to get a workpermit in this context or to convince a company to sponsor them.
Thanks a stackBigAppleWoodenShoe wrote:Congrats Static!!!I hope you enjoy your new job.
I have my fingers crossed about a job here in Cork. Now that I have this new information about the spousal work permit, I know that it's a little easier for them to hire me!

I just read the messages here in the forum and I want to give you an information who isn't really said until now (I guess most of you already know, but anyway). 2 weeks ago I got following news by email:
"When submitting a work permit application for a spouse of an EEA national, the €30,000 salary does not apply."
So, if you are a Spouse from a EU national the salary doesn't really matter. Got news in bad times, isn't it :S?
I should know very shortly... mine is in progress.BigAppleWoodenShoe wrote:Still, I haven't seen anything in writing. Although I like dealing with the Dept of Enterprise much better than the DoJ, the following website about workpermits doesn't state a-ny-thing about spouse of EU-nationals working in Ireland. http://www.entemp.ie/labour/workpermits/
What am I missing here, who has more information on Workpermit for spouse of EU-nationals working in Ireland???
I think it's different and.. also it should be faster. I should know soon enough......... I heard from others that they generally take around 2 weeks to get back to you.SanMex wrote:I have heard from the employers that Spousal Work Permit is actually taking up to 2 months to be processed is that true? I mean the girl in DETE told me mine would be fast tracked and will take 2 weeks. Is there any diference between the spousal work permit and that we are asking for? or is it the same
