USA green card

Hello,

How long do I have to work or live in the US to get a green card?
Does green card give me rights to travel to other countries and work in them without a visa ( I am russian by the way)

Are you referring to people who work in the US with an H1B visa (work permit)? There are no hard and fast rules, but an H1B visa is initially valid for 3 years and can usually be renewed for another 3 years. You can apply for a green card as soon as you have the visa, but if you don't get it by the time it runs out you have to leave the US for at least a year. In the late 90's people often got a green card within 3-4 years, now it can take longer. You may want to ask in the following forum for more information

Depends on what visa (if any) you will be using to work there.
