Work Permit application when passport is about to expire....

Dear Forum,

I am in a situation that I am hoping all forum members and moderators will kindly help and advise me on.

I have been on a work permit with the same employer since Nov 2002 (should have aready obtained ILR! nonsensical change in ILR rules!). I have just been offered a new job and the new employer is about to apply for a new work permit. However I am slightly concerned due to the fact that my passport expires at the end of July. I have postponed the application of a new one because I know my new employer will need to send my passport with the work permit application.

I was wondering if anyone browsing this forum have experienced a smilar situation. Would the moderators be kind enough to advise on this matter?
