spouse visa ILR and benefit

my wife cafe to uk as spouse visa just month ago. she have 2 years spouse visa, we just recently move to new flat. currently am big time struggling to pay rent since I lost my job. am concerning to claim income support benefit due my financial dificulities, my wife curently 6 month pregnant and I cant leave her alone home go for second job. I am thinking to claim benefit for few month until I able go second job. my wife ILR due to after two years. I hope if i claim benefit under only my name this will not affect my wife ILR application. please advice me anyone expert, thanks

You may claim any public funds that you, as a settled person or British citizen, are entitled to. It will have no effect on your spouse's settlement application.

Child benefit should be in your name. Tax credits in joint names. Other benefits in joint names but only paying a single person/lone parent applicable amount. What Country is your partner native?
