TIER 2 General migrant max stay

Hi Manci,

I have seen you answering many doubts on visas. Thanks for that.

I just got a doubt on max stay for tier 2 general visa holders. Visa was granted on Sep 2011 for two years. It was extended on Sep 2013 for another 2 years till Sep 2015. I saw some where that the max stay in this category is for 6 years. Can this be extended again for another 2 years in 2015? Or no extensions possible as it already got extended for 2 years.

Please advise.

leave can be extended as many times as desired to bring the total leave granted in Tier 2 to 6 years, counted from the date you were first granted entry clearance or leave to remain.

See para 192 of the T2 policy guidance

You will of course need a new CoS for each extension.
