How long does it take to get the ILR?

Dear All,

Please let me know if you know the answers to this

1) How long does it take to get the ILR?

2) Do I have to submit my Passport for the entire period until I get it? or can I get the documents attested and signed by my Local Council Office/solicitor?

3) Is the ILR a Card or a sticker on the visa?

4) If I wanted to travel out of the country (after the application being a success) but before I get the actual card/sticker on visa, are there any restrictions?

Depends on the chosen route, if booked a PEO appointment you'd mostly get it done the same day. However, the BRP will follow you in 7-10 working days, on the otherside if you chose to post then it could take from weeks to months...

2) Do I have to submit my Passport for the entire period until I get it? or can I get the documents attested and signed by my Local Council Office/solicitor?

You will have to submit your Passport

3) Is the ILR a Card or a sticker on the visa?

Usually a BRP Card

4) If I wanted to travel out of the country (after the application being a success) but before I get the actual card/sticker on visa, are there any restrictions?

You will have to have the BRP Card with you to re-enter.
