Extension of UK General Visitor Visa

Post by perthuser » Mon Nov 25, 2013 10:26 pm

Hi All

Thanks for your time to read my post. My inlaws had applied for General visitor visa(6 months) last August. They have a visa from Nov 2013 to April 2014 but have not travelled. But in the meantime we are expecting baby due in May 2014. So their presence at that point is very essential. It would be good if I can get visa during Mar 2014 to August 2014. Is there any way to either get the General visitor visa extended or apply for a fresh visa (can we submit the old visa) now?In case if we can't extend, then for applying fresh visa can demand visa validity from March 2014 to August 2014 since old once is valid till April.

Appreciate a quick response

Thanks in advance

You can request a visa to start up to 3 months after application.

So you could simply apply for a new visa in March for both of them and have one that runs from April to October or apply earlier if you want them here until August.

Be aware, though, that on any single entry the maximum length is 180 days.
