Validity of IELTS. Confusing guidance on UKBA Website.

Post by skyscraper101 » Mon Nov 25, 2013 10:01 pm

Hi, I need to renew my wife's leave to remain. She has already completed 2 years as the spouse of a British citizen. We now want to file for a 2 year extension.

She has a IELTS certificate which was originally required for the first application, but the UKBA website suggests that it is only valid for 2 years:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/polic ... appendixo/

However there are other tests which have notes which specifically say "For UK immigration purposes, the tests are valid for 2 years only" wheras IELTS just have "2 Years" in the side notes.

What does this mean? Why the different notes between different tests. Does she need to complete a new IELTS exam if her certificate is over 2 years? Please help.
