Passport Expiring soon can travel to UK Back ? Urgent plz

Hi

My Wife is on ILR and two kids (born in UK) have two years FLR(M) visa.
They went to India in aug 2012.
they want to come back to UK.

I have doubt my first child passport is expiring in May 2014.
So can they still travel from India if there passport is less than six months to expire.
I heard that they need minimum six month valid passport to travel to UK.

please guru suggest me the I am more worried.

You are not legally required to have 6 months' validity on your passport at the time you apply for your visa. But your passport must be valid at the time you apply and at the time you arrive in the UK.
