HSMP :: What if you have UK Employment Offer Letter?

Hi All,

I am an IT Professional of India. What if you get an Offer Letter from
UK Employer?

A. Should one fax it by himself to Home Office?
B. Can UK Employer send the Offer Letter to Home Office directly by
referring the HSMP Application Reference number?
C. After receipt of the Employment Letter, approximately when Home
Office would provide decision on one's HSMP Application?

Any tips/ideas/suggestions/guidance/references?

Looks like you are among the lucky few who has secured a job offer.

As for your intimating the HO, it depends on when you have applied. I am sure you are aware, that you can request HO to give your application an urgent treatment only after 6 weeks from the date of your application.

If you have crossed the 6 weeks mark, then you can yourself fax them the offer letter with a cover letter explaining that they should give an urgent treatment to your application. You prospective employer can also fax the offer letter quoting your application no.

Thereafter, you will need to get in touch with HO to confirm the receipt of the request for urgent treatment. Going by the example of another member (mini) on the board, they may take anthing from 3 week and more.

Thanks for the info. Yes 6 weeks are over by now, as I applied in the month of July'04 and HO received it on 26-Jul-04.

1. How much miniumum amount of funds do I need to show when I go for EC? Mention a figure.
2. What do I need to show as accomodation arrangement? Would that be fine, if I show that the Employer is going to manage my accomodation once I land in UK?
