Switching from Tier4 to Tier2 (general) + 1 dependant

Post by eduleal » Tue Dec 03, 2013 3:27 pm

Hi all,

I'm finally applying to switch my Tier 4 to a Tier 2 (general). I've been working for a company since completing the course (Masters) and they will sponsor me, having just received their A-rating licence this week.

As I am doing this from inside the UK, I'm having a lot of trouble finding a document checklist, to make sure I get it all sorted on time (my current visa expires on 23/Jan/2014).

My questions are:
- Do I just need photos, certificate of sponsorship, my Masters transcripts (do I need any other past degrees as well?) and bank statement from last 90 days (which I don't think I need, because my company is happy to tick the maintenance box on the CoS)? Do I need anything else?

- What documents does my wife need to apply together as a dependant? She is also switching from a Tier 4 to Tier 2 (dependant). We have a marriage certificate from the UK and she has her UK Masters degree. Anything else needed (if her maintenance is also guaranteed on my CoS)?

- Finally, can I only check appointments for the premium service (in person) when applying online? Is it realistic to get a date before 23/01/2014?

Any help on this would be very much appreciated!
I'm afraid the document lists are not very clear for each case...

Thanks in advance!!!

:D

Hi guys,

Any thoughts on this?
I appreciate that the list will be on my application form, but it would be great to start getting those documents together beforehand...

Thanks!

Hello,

The requirements are,
(A)For you,
1)Certificate of sponsor (which you have as you mentioned), but you must meet the required salary. you can see the salary bracket for your field of work in UKBA website.

2) Mainteneance Fund (i think its £900 held for 3 months).
If your sponsor is willing to certify ertify maintenance for you on your Certificate of Sponsorship, then you wont need maintenance fund.

3) English language, which you are qualified since you did your degree here in UK.

(B)I dont have idea for any requirements

(C) In some parts of UK, its not busy (Liverpool for example). so it is possible to book your appointment within 1 week.

I hope these help. :)

Hi there,

Thank you so much for your help. Much appreciated.

If anyone else has experience with the dependant visa in this case, it'd be great to know

Thanks!
