Canada: Can look for jobs on a Visit to Canada?

Hi All,

I am an Indian Citizen living in UK, as I am thinking to apply for Canada Immigration, however I learnt that it will take atleast 2-5yrs for the whole process.

Is there any way, that we go to Canada on visit and find IT jobs there.
Is this a good idea?
