H1B visas are for people with skills which are in short supply in the US to work in specialist occupations. What kind of position have you been offered? Applicants need either a university degree or 12 years experience in order to qualify. See here. It is now very hard to get an H1B visa, particularly due to the very large number of IT specialists from all over the world who apply each year.

Hi Marco 72

I have a degree in computing and the company I would be working for is an IT company. I have heard that IT is very popular and that I might have problems :(

If there is anymore info you need I can provide it

Thanks for the link

I suggest you post in the following forum. Most regular users there have had plenty of experience with US immigration issues. Good luck.

By the way, I have read that H1B visas for 2007 are already gone, and the only ones left are for people US postgraduate degrees or those seeking work in universities (which are exempt from the cap).
