Need a UK Student VISA for January

Hello,

I'm an Ecuadorean student who has recieved an offer from a London university to study there. However, there are no more application dates in December in Ecuador, and the website hasn't updated them for January.

Although i have until the 27th January for my VISA to be accepted and for me to arrive I do not like the idea of cutting it that short, as I don't know when the dates are. (I can't seem to access them on Worldbridge)

I currently actually have a valid General Visitor VISA which I had hoped I could use and then apply for a Student VISA whilst I was there, but it seems this is not allowed.

My main question is: Colombia have a Priority Service. Now, when i applied for my General Visitor UK Visa they sent my application form to be assessed in Colombia. Would it be possible for me to book an appointment there, fly to Colombia and use the priority service there? Or is it only for residents of Colombia.

If anybody has any ideas, feel free to say.

Unfortunately not. Columbia is a regional EC hub that processes applications from other countries, but you must submit your application in your home country, even though it will be sent to Bogota.

Does anybody have any ideas how I can get a VISA quicker?

Worldbridge website isn't featuring the dates at all. It's very frustrating as they are very slow to respond to their e-mails and often not helpful at all.

It is very confusing. There is no mention on the ukba equador site of an option to apply directly in Colombia but under urgent cases I found this.

Please also consider whether or not you are able to travel to Bogota to submit your application as there may be availability there before the next scheduled clinic in Ecuador.  If an aplicant has an urgent or compassionate application and there is no availablity in Bogota please contact UKBA Bogota with details of the urgent/compassionate nature of the application.

However, I fear that would be with regard to a visit visa, as it is permitted to apply to visit the UK from any location irrespective of nationality or residence. I suggest you email them for clarification.
