Tax Returns proof mandatory?

Post by yogeshp77 » Fri May 18, 2007 8:19 am

Hi All,

I am applying for HSMP by this May end(May 2007). I don't yet have Form 16 for this financial year. Is Showing tax returns mandatory or providing proof of salary slips and bank statement would suffice?

I have to apply before 23rd Jun as I m turning 30 then and will loose 5 points. Currently I am making 80 points (Earning : 40, Education: 30, Age: 10). Are the chances of rejection more if you make exact 75 point and not more?

Thanks,
Yogesh

Tax document is the most important dicument to prove you earning.
This is because of its nature the most difficult document to fake if you want to prove your earning power compare to other document such as salsary slips, bank statement, etc

So if you could not supply provide acceptable reason why you could not. Otherwise the chance for rejection is very high

Thanks Pantaiema, Rajesh

Well I think I better wait till I get my Form 16. Now that I know just 75 points would make my case weaker, I can wait for another month. :)

Thanks,
Yogesh

You don't have to wait, you can show your past payslips, and an employment offer indicating your salary.

Indeed, in this forum there are quite a few people get approval without tax documents. However, there are much more people get rejection because they do not supply tax documents.

Which decision you want to male it is entirely up to you. Just remember that each caseworker make have difference opinion. So better to play safe.

Few people do not supply tax documents becasue they could produce strong/reason.

Salaried Employment seeking HSMP extension:

This is the direct quatation from Flrhsmp April 47 application form para 47.

"you will need to supply your Income Tax Return (P60) and wage slips to cover the full period for which you are claiming points"

If your ITR does not cover the full period (which is like the case) you do not need to tick:

"Income Tax Return covering period claimed for " box

Provide reason for exceptional circumstances>
And supply other evidence
- Bank statements covering period claimed for
- Letter from your employer stating salary as claimed "

I wonder is any lflr (HSMP) applicant while on salaried employment get approval using now application form without submitting P 60 ?
