Help: Travel 1week after PEO appointment

Post by eduleal » Mon Dec 16, 2013 5:28 pm

Hi all,

I have a PEO appointment in Croydon to switch from Tier 4 to Tier 2 on the 23/12 , with my wife as dependant (also switching from Tier 4). It should be pretty straightforward and I'm confident that we will be given the visa on the same day.

I'd like to travel for New Year's Eve - a week later, on the 30/12.

Questions:
- Do I have to wait to receive the BRP by post before travelling?
- In the affirmative, is it risky to book that flight now? It seems most people get the BRP within 2-4 days, however there's Christmas holidays in between.

Any thoughts or advice on this would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Pretty risky in my opinion, there are not many working days in between your appoinment and when you want to travel.

Thanks, Greenie

I understand from your answer that I should indeed NOT travel without having received my BRP, is that correct?
Would I be refused entry if I did?

How long does it normally take for the BRP to arrive following a successful PEO appointment?

I know they say 7-10 working days, but it seems most cases in this forum have been taking a lot less than that...
