Job when applying for Spousal Visa

Hi everyone - a quick question - is it possible to apply for a spousal visa for the UK if the British Citizen does not have a job yet in the UK (i.e. if we are moving back to the UK together?)

quick answer - yes, but you have to show the spouse won't be a burden on public funds and that there is somewhere to live.

I am also in the same situation. I (British Citizen, currently living in SA) will be returning with my wife (Saffa) next year.

Obviously I do not have a job in the UK (the commute is a tad heavy on the wallet ), but will get one as soon as I return, as will my wife.

How does one then prove that my wife will not resort to public funds? Also what would I do under the section of employment for the sponsor?

We own property and would see funds to cover the period till employment was secured from the sale of said property, cars, assorted other things..

Any help would be appreciated.
