Previous earning from PER DIEM allowance

Post by subrataduari » Sat Dec 28, 2013 6:46 pm

Hi

I am a new member of this site. I work for an Investment bank, on Tier 1 general visa. Please can anyone tell me if Per Diem allowance that is displayed on my salary slip will be considered as a part of ''previous earning'' for Tier 1 General ILR?

I am paying tax on that, but I cant show that this PDM allowance is on my appointment letter.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Not sure if this helps but I have lifted this from the guidance. It is said:
Allowances
105. We will only include allowances (such
as those for accommodation or schooling
for your children) in the assessment of
your previous earnings if they are part of
your remuneration package and are not
paid to reimburse you for money you have
previously spent.
106. We will only accept allowances as
earnings if they are declared in your payslips
and there is a contractual obligation on the
employer’s part to make these payments.

Why don't you consider getting a letter from your employer explaining that this PDM is contractual?

To Scope D
Thanks for your reply mate.

Even I have gone those two sections. But they really do not say clearly about PDM.

Here I am getting two views. One is if I can show home office that it is my part of contract, it will be considered as previous earning. But other view says, since PDM is not so called 'earned income', it not not be part of previous earning.

But surely as you suggested, I will try to get a letter from my HR.

Cheers
