Does my dependant need to pass life in UK test

Post by Tim_025 » Thu Jan 02, 2014 11:39 pm

Hi,

I am applying for my ILR after 9 years on a UK Ancestry Visa, my wife who is canadian and has been in the the UK for 2 years on a tier 5 visa will be included on my application as my dependant.

Does she have to pass the Life in the UK test to apply as my dependent?

I have already passed the life in the UK test.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

That's not going to work unless she switches to Ancestry dep before you apply for ILR!

Thanks for that Amber,

I guessed as much. She was originally going be attached to my Ancestry but we then decided to go to ILR, that's where I made the oversite (very hard slap to forehead) Will just have to rush her through, we still have 5 weeks till our application is due so should be fine, knock on wood, fingers crossed etc etc :)

This is a great site folks, keep up the support!
